Gift card

Buy a gift card

- Where can I buy The Restaurant Choice gift card?
You can purchase a The Restaurant Choice gift card online here and at several stores.
- Can I buy The Restaurant Choice gift card via telephone?
No. You cannot place an order via telephone. You can only place an order online, or buy a gift card in store.
- Can I return my The Restaurant Choice gift card to the store?
If you bought a The Restaurant Choice gift card in store the return policy of that store is applicable.

Online orders

- How do I order a The Restaurant Choice gift card?
Click ‘Buy gift card’ and choose the number of gift cards, denominations and number of gift wallets you wish to order. Under ‘How do you want to receive your Gift Card’, choose ‘By post’.
- What kind of payment methods do you accept?
You can pay for your online order via PayPal, VISA or MasterCard. Please note that only credit cards issued in the UK are accepted for payment. All orders need to be prepaid. You cannot order gift cards on credit.
- Can I place an order from outside the UK?
You can place an order from outside the UK as long as you pay with PayPal or a UK issued VISA or MasterCard, and the shipping address is located in the UK.
- Do I receive an order confirmation after placing my order?
Yes, within 30 minutes after placing the order you receive an order confirmation by e-mail.
- Do I receive a VAT invoice after placing an order?
No. You only receive an order confirmation. If you wish to receive a VAT invoice, please contact us with your OrderID.
- Do you ship to addresses outside the UK?
No. Orders can only be shipped to addresses within the UK.
- Can I send the order to a different address?
Yes, when placing the order, please select ‘Send to another person’ and enter the recipient’s data below your own personal data.
- Can I add a personal message to my order?
Yes, if you select ‘Send to another person’ you can ‘Add a message’ below the recipient’s data. The personal message is shown of the cover letter that comes with the delivery of the gift card.
- What shipping methods do you offer?
Orders placed before 3 pm Monday-Friday will be processed the same working day. Orders placed after 3 pm Monday-Friday or in weekends will be processed the next working day. Please note, we are relying on Royal Mail for the delivery of the orders. During busy periods, such as the holidays, delivery of your order may take longer. This will be mentioned on the website.

- How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Orders placed before 3 pm Monday-Friday will be processed the same working day. Orders placed after 3 pm Monday-Friday or in weekends will be processed the next working day. Depending on the shipping method chosen, it can take between 1 to 4 working days from the processing day for your order to arrive. Please see above for all shipping methods.

- Can I track my order after it has been shipped?
Yes, if you choose for Royal Mail First Class Signed For or Royal Mail Special you receive a tracking code.
- What is your return policy?

Using your The Restaurant Choice gift card

- How can I pay with my The Restaurant Choice gift card?
When paying the bill, present the gift card to the restaurant and let them know what amount you wish to pay for with your gift card. You can choose to either pay the full amount of the bill with your gift card (if the balance is sufficient), or split the payment between your gift card and other payment method.
- Do I need to spend my gift card at once?
No. You can use your gift card multiple times, as long as the card is valid for and the balance on your card is sufficient. If the payment amount is less than the gift card amount, the remaining balance will stay on your gift card as long as it is valid for.
- Where can I spend my The Restaurant Choice gift card?
The Restaurant Choice gift cards can be spent in a selection of popular dining chains across the UK, such as Nando’s, PizzaExpress, Yo!Sushi, Café Rouge, Handmade Burger Co., Ask Italian, Zizzi, Jamie’s Italian, The Real Greek, and a handpicked selection of independent restaurants. - Can I spend my gift card in restaurants that are not shown on the website?
No. The Restaurant Choice gift card can only be spent in restaurants that are shown on the website. If a restaurant of one of the participating chains is not on the website, please contact us with the name and location of the restaurant.
- What can I spend my gift card on?
Your gift card can be spent on all food and all drinks including soft drinks, alcohol, set menus and a la carte menus in the restaurant.
- Can I use my gift card to pay online for takeout meals?
No, you can only use your gift card to pay for the bill in the restaurant.
- Can I use my gift card to pay for tips?
No. You cannot use your gift card to pay for tips.
- Can my gift card be used in combination with other promotions or discounts?
No. The Restaurant Choice gift card cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or discounts.
- Can I spend my gift card at any time?
Yes, your gift card can be spent at any time as long as your gift card is valid and has a positive balance. However, we recommend to always make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
- My gift card did not work in the restaurant, what can I do?
Please note your gift card must be processed as a MasterCard, not as a gift card. Please check with the staff if they have used the correct method of processing. If your gift card still does not work, please contact us with the restaurant details, details of your visit and gift card number for assistance.

Balance and validity

- How can I check the balance on my The Restaurant Choice gift card?
To check the balance of your gift card, please click here or dial the phone number on the back of your gift card (0121 260 2849).
- How long is my The Restaurant Choice gift card valid for?
Your gift card is valid for one year after purchase. Please note that the date of purchase can be different from the date you have received the gift card. Therefore you should always check your balance online. To check the validity of your gift card, please click here or dial the phone number on the back of your gift card (0121 260 2849).
- The validity of my gift card has expired, what can I do?
Once your gift card has expired it can no longer be used. The Restaurant Choice offers a grace period of 3 months after expiration of your gift card. To apply for a new gift card, please contact us via our contact form with your gift card number and request for a new gift card. An administrative fee is charged to replace your gift card. The costs of replacing your gift voucher with a plastic gift card are £6.95. You will receive your gift card within 14 days after we have received payment of the administrative fee. - My gift card is invalid, what can I do?
Gift cards are activated at the point of sale. If your gift card is invalid this often means that the merchant has not properly activated the card.
– If the gift card was bought in store, please go back to the store with your gift card and sales receipt to have it activated.
– If your gift card was bought online, please email us with your card number and orderID.
– If you’ve received your gift card as a gift, please check with the giver of your gift card where it was purchased.

Lost/Stolen

- Can you replace a lost or stolen gift card?
No. The gift card is not personal so cannot be replaced when lost or stolen.

Paper vouchers
In March 2016 The Restaurant Choice introduced a plastic gift card to make it even easier for you to give as a gift, or redeem at any of the participating locations! It is no longer possible to order a The Restaurant Choice paper voucher. Of course you can still use your paper voucher as long as it is valid for at any of the restaurants that accept the paper voucher.

Using your vouchers

- How can I pay with my The Restaurant Choice vouchers?
When paying the bill, present the voucher to the restaurant. The voucher amount will be deducted from the amount of your bill. If the voucher amount is higher than the amount of your bill it is not possible to get a refund for the difference.
- Do I need to spend my voucher at once?
Yes. The Restaurant Choice vouchers can only be spent in full. It is not possible to get a refund for the difference.
- Where can I spend my The Restaurant Choice vouchers?
The Restaurant Choice vouchers can be spent in a selection of popular dining chains across the UK, such as Nando’s, PizzaExpress, Yo!Sushi, Café Rouge, Handmade Burger Co., Ask Italian, Zizzi, Jamie’s Italian and The Real Greek. - The restaurant did not accept my vouchers, what can I do?
Please contact us with the restaurant details and details of your visit for assistance. You will receive a reply within 2 working days.
- Can I spend my vouchers in restaurants that are not shown on the website?
No. Your vouchers can only be spent in restaurants that are shown on the website. If a restaurant of one of the participating chains is not on the website, please contact us with the name and location of the restaurant. You will receive a reply within 2 working days.
- One of the participating restaurants that was on your website is no longer shown, what can I do?
The restaurants shown on the website are the restaurants that currently accept The Restaurant Choice vouchers. This list is subject to change. If a restaurant is no longer shown on the website, it means it does no longer accepts the vouchers.
- What can I spend my vouchers on?
You can spend your vouchers on a la carte menus, set menus and drinks.
- Can I use my vouchers to pay online for takeout meals?
No, you can only use your vouchers to pay for the bill in the restaurant.
- Can I use my vouchers to pay for tips?
No. You cannot use your vouchers to pay for tips.
- Can my vouchers be used in combination with other promotions or discounts?
No. The Restaurant Choice vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or discounts.
- Can I spend my vouchers at any time?
Yes, your vouchers can be spent at any time as long as your vouchers are valid. However, we recommend to always make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Balance and validity

- How can I check the balance of my The Restaurant Choice voucher?
The vouchers have a fixed value that is printed on front of your voucher. The value of your voucher can also be found here, by typing in the voucher number without spaces.
- How long is my The Restaurant Choice voucher valid for?
The validity of the voucher is printed on the back of the voucher. The validity can also be found here, by typing in the voucher number without spaces.
- My voucher has expired, what can I do?
Once your voucher has expired it can no longer be used. The Restaurant Choice offers a grace period of 3 months after expiration of your voucher. Since the paper vouchers are no longer sold, the expired voucher can only be replaced with a gift card. To apply for a replacement of your voucher, please contact us via e-mail with your voucher code and request for a newgift card. You need to return the voucher(s) to us by post. Costs of return are for your own account. An administrative fee is charged to replace your voucher. You can replace your voucher with a plastic gift card. The costs of replacing your voucher with a plastic gift card are £6.95. You will receive your gift card within 14 days after we have received payment of the administrative fee.
